These screws worked great!
Having purchased a fixer-upper built in 1966 we had a second floor with face nailed hardwood floors.
Worked for a while
I had no trouble finding the joist or getting the screw to snap in the right place.
Sometimes snaps too early
Not surprisingly, these tend to work much better than the non-joist ones.
Works as advertised
Find a place that is not too conspicuous to practice.
