Book offers powerful view of civil rights movement
Terrific look at the civil rights movement of the early 1960s through the eyes of many of the key players -- both heroes and villains -- who were in and out of Birmingham, Alabama during that dramatic time.

An amazing undertaking!
I actually knew Diane McWhorter as she and I grew up in the same suburb and attended the same school and the JCC in Birmingham, Alabama in the 60's.

Good book, except for Kindle version
I was 120 or so pages into this fascinating and weighty tome when I decided it was time to get a Kindle so I could read it more easily, and return the hard copy to the friend from whom I'd borrowed it.

Rivetting historical writing
"Bring Me Home" is electrifying and reads like a murder mystery, which in fact it is.
