The 1972 double album *Exile on Main Street* is a coherent statement so powerful you almost can't believe it's from the single-happy Stones.

One of the many endearing qualities of Exile on Main Street is its naked honesty, in both sound and ethos.

Part of the reason for Exile On Main Street [Remastered] being on my ten best album list , is that well over four decades ago my friend told me his brother thought it was the Stones best album, so I listened to it [Unremastered] and compared w/ other real contenders and potential contenders consisting of way older albums which can't fairly be compared w/ albums w/ Sticky Fingers w/ "bonus DISCS" and so I rationally concluded that the sound on Exile was sound I had ever heard was the "only" "sound" w/ which I could possibly use for comparison purposes.
