Minotaur: Sir Arthur Evans and the Archaeology of the Minoan Myth
Although some reviewers have said that Macgillivray's book has been excessively critical of Sir Arthur Evans, I found his argument that Evans' restoration and interpretation of the Minoan palace at Knossos was mainly a result of Evans seeing what he wanted to see to be basically correct, Nor is he alone in this judgment.

Revenge of "Modern" Archaeology
Minotaur by Joseph MacGillivray
This book presents itself as a readable biography of one the great Archaeologists, Sir Arthur Evans, instead of a thoughtful biography the book is really a prolonged attack on Evans by an author of dubious credentials and makes for extremely painful reading.
